P.E. Class ~ Ms. Maria Castenada

Soccer, baseball, volleyball, badminton, freeze tag, running, jumping, smiling & teamwork.

Students attend P.E. class twice each week. Please make sure you children wear appropriate attire and shoes so they can participate on their assigned days.

 

Booster Club

Our wonderful Booster Club is always there to land a hand and fund raise for the things we need. Our year always starts out with a “Welcome Back BBQ” compliments of our Boost Club. They provide many fun events throughout the year like the Fall Festival and Christmas Bazaar.

Food Service ~ NSLP Program – Mrs. Kelley Wacaser

We participate in the National School Lunch Program. Our kitchen provides home coked meals from scratch every day for breakfast and lunch.

Mrs. Kelley Wacaser is our Kitchen Manager, Ms. Michelle Medina is her assistant. Kelsey Hartman is the Lunch Clerk, she works during meal times and takes care of NSLP applications. If you have any questions or issues please contact her through the office.  Mrs. Susan Siegfried, NSLP Coordinator.

Our staff serves a nutritional, tasty, traditionally cooked meal everyday. Breakfast is available from 7:30-7:50 every morning.

If your child has food allergies the needs to be adjusted a specific lunch program form must be filled out and signed by a medical professional then submitted to the office. We will make accommodations where we can.

Full price lunch is $3.00 and breakfast is $2.00. Reduced meals are $.40 for lunch and $.30 for breakfast. Milk is sold a la carte for $.50 each.

Free and Reduced applications are available in the office. If your financial situation has changed any time during the school year you may fill out a new form. Thank you.

 

The Janice Miller Library ~ Mrs. Peggy Evans

Mingus Springs Charter School has it’s very own library on campus. It contains well over 20,000 books that range from Pre-K to adult reading levels. The books are accessible to all of our students, parents and staff. A Reference and Resource section for students, parents and staff to use. Accelerated Reader books are the mainstay of our library program. Students are required to participate in the Accelerated Reader Program. By reading books at their level students earn points to spend at the AR Store at the end of each quarter. Students set reading goals each semester with their teacher. Students that reach their goal are treated by the Principal, Dawn Gonzales to a Reward Day.

Our dynamic librarian, Mrs Evans is always inspiring students to read. Mrs. Evans celebrates Dr. Seuss birthday every March with Read Across America, inviting community members to come to read to our students.

 

Computer Lab ~ Mrs. Christy Hodges

Mingus Springs computer lab has 25 MAC computers for the students and one for the instructor in the lab. Students go by classroom to the lab twice a week to learn Arizona Technology standards.

 

Transportation ~ Ms. Shannon Collier

Mingus Springs offers bus services children who live in the Paulden and Chino Valley vicinity. If you would like more information on the schedule please contact the office.

We are excited to announce that video cameras are  installed on our school buses, the cameras are live and recording the runs. Parents should go over the rules of the bus that are in your family handbook as a refresher with your children.
