Mingus Springs Charter School Events
We hold many events here at Mingus Springs Charter School. These events are huge components in the operation of our school. Not only do they provide our community with the opportunity to strengthen the relationships between the staff and the student’s and their families, but it also allows us to raise funds for student trips and much more.
School-wide BBQ
At the beginning and end of each school year, we hold a school-wide barbecue. This event is one of our favorites because it allows all students and their families to interact with teachers and other staff members outside of the classroom setting. This event often brings back alumni to spend time with the Mingus Springs community.
Fundraising throughout the year
Our 8th grade class will hold fundraising events to include: special dinners, catalogue orders from Uncle Jerry’s T’s, Flower Power, personalized water bottles and t-shirts, just to name a few.
8th Grade End Of The Year Trips
- Disneyland California Trip
Our students will participate in the Disney Youth Education Series, studying the Properties of Motion Physics and the role of Mechanical Physics in the Magic Kingdom. It is an awesome learning experience and a great end to their elementary school years.
Read Across America
This is an opportunity for the community to show our students the importance of reading in all aspects of life. Many community members from the fire dept., sheriff’s office, local churches, police dept., authors, and more come to read. This day is coupled with a school spirit pajama day.
Spirit Days
Our students dress up in school colors, teal and gray, to show their school pride and also for our crazy dress up days such as: crazy hair day, sport day, skittles day (every class in a different color), twins day, cowboy day, pirate day just to name a few. Spirit Day is always a favorite amongst the students and staff.
Festivals
We hold festivals to attend throughout the year. Traditionally a Trunk or Treat in October and a Spring Fest with outdoor activities, games and food.
Christmas Program
Our Christmas programs are always a big hit with a packed house. The programs have included a Christmas play, musical performances, and a Winter Wonderland walk through.
