Mingus Springs Charter School is owned and operated right here in Chino Valley, AZ. Since our school opened its doors in 1995, we’ve treated every student like they were a part of our family. Other schools may offer similar services, but our services are capital, and come with a personal touch. Mingus Springs has received the Charter Pioneer recognition certificate for being one of the original charter schools formed in Arizona. Mingus Springs Charter School was awarded their charter renewal for 20 years in 2010.
Mingus Springs Charter School teaches the Arizona State Standards as directed by the Arizona State Department of Education. Teachers create their own lessons based upon these standards. Teaching methods include; Differentiated Instruction, Thematic Units and hands on learning experiences are common. Field Applications to expand the learning experience are the frequent and include trips to the local library, zoos, Bearizona, museums and even Catalina Island and Disneyland for an engineering lesson for the 8th grade students.
Mingus Springs offers Title I and IDEA services to student's at risk and with disabilities. Through these grant programs we are able to retain Highly Quailified Paraprofessionals in every classroom to assist these student's. Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy is also provided if a child is in need. If you feel your child would benefit from these services please contact Adrienne Leckliter, our SPED Director.
